Harrison, Arkansas |
Seeing is believing. We want you to see what we have here in our
city and surrounding country. Convince yourself of the advantages
and opportunities here and become one of us.
Harrison is the county seat of Boone County, and the metropolis of
north Arkansas. Located in the heart of the Ozarks, is has a climate
second to none, and its water supply from pure, never-failing
springs is distributed by a city owned water system installed at a
cost of $100,000; the city is well lighted, having twenty-four hour
electric service, with ample surplus power for new industries.
With an unusually large trade area, Harrison is the center or hub of
a section of America noted for its agricultural, mineral, and timber
resources. The city has a handsome new court-house, federal
building, seven churches, a high school and three public school
buildings, three banks, two newspapers, wholesale grocery, wholesale
hardware, ice and cold storage plant, large produce houses, roller
mills, lumber yards and canning factory; the general offices of the
Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad, with a pay roll in Harrison
alone of approximately $80,000 per month, are located here and the
retail business district of the city is unusually large; its
prosperity is evidenced by the total amount of its bank deposits,
approximating $1,250,000.
