Warren - 1919

Bradley County, Arkansas

The county is one of the foremost of the state in educational advantages. The above picture is one of the rural school buildings of which there are over forty in the county. Warren has a senior high school building, a junior high school building and two ward schools. A modern Y.M.C.A. building has just been completed for the city.

Warren is the County Seat for Bradley County and is the metropolis of Southeast Arkansas. Government statistics show it to be the second healthiest city in the United States. The city water, the analysis of which shows it to be perfect for human consumption, is furnished from a deep artesian well. Many factories and industrial enterprises are located in Warren and the city is the largest Arkansas Soft Pine market in the world. An average of one car of this valuable lumber is shipped from Warren every minutes for every day in the year. Three railway lines lead out from Warren. Six white denominations have church buildings in Warren. They are: Presbyterian, Methodists, Baptists, Christians, Episcopalians, and Catholics.
