The "Ideal" Town, located on the Arkansas - Louisiana Highway, the longest continuous paved roadway in the United States on the Missouri Pacific Rail Road forty miles South of Pine Bluff, surrounded by a scope of the agricultural country excelled by none in the great cotton belt. Lands that will grow Cotton, Corn, Alfalfa, Peanuts, Sorghum, Cow Peas, Fruits, and Vegetables of all kinds. In 1910 the population of Dumas was approximately five hundred souls.

Health conditions are ideal and you will find here all that goes to make up the ideal American home; good schools for both white and black; good churches, with religious services every Sunday in the year.
