Plant City

War Veteran Dead

John Box, and old and much respected survivor of the Indian War, died at his home Tuesday night in his 75th year.  Mr. Box had been blind for many years and an invalid for several months. His wife and two sons survive him.  Internment took place in Oaklawn cemetery Friday, Rev. E. L. Todd, officiating.

Mrs. Missouri Box

Mrs. Missouri Box, 73, of rural Tampa, died yesterday at a Tampa hospital.  She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. F. Freeman, Mrs. Rose Adcock, and Mrs. E. J. Wehle, all of Tampa; two sons, Frank H. Box, of Jacksonville, and Osie Box of Tampa; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Jones, of Palmetto; Mrs. Well Ormes, of Medulla, and Mrs. Jennie Thompson, of Mulberry; two brothers, Jessie Wiggins, of Bradenton, and Governor Wiggins of Winter Haven.

Boxx, Jessie – Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Boxx, 33, of 212 E. 7th Ave., who died yesterday, will be held today at 1:00 p. m. at the A. P. Boza chapel. Internment in Plant City cemetery.  He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Lowell, a brother, William Boxx, and two nieces, Elizabeth and Frances Boxx, and four nephews, Ralph, William, Gilbert, and Talmadge Boxx, in Tampa.

Boxx, William Thomas – William Thomas Boxx, age 41, of 2604 East Caracas, passed away Tuesday morning in a local hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 4 Thursday afternoon from the P. T. Blount Co. Funeral home, with the Rev. W. Frank Bishop, pastor of the Belmont Heights Baptist Church, officiating.  Internment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Thelma Boxx of Tampa; five sons, Ralph A. Boxx, W. T. Boxx, Jr., Gilbert R. Boxx, Louis T. Boxx, and Ernest R. Boxx all of Tampa; Two daughters, Mrs. Paul Brown and Miss Frances A. Boxx both of Tampa; mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Lowell of Tampa; and a grandchild.

Boxx, Jr., William Thomas – Funeral services for William Thomas Boxx, Jr.; 25, 108 W. Francis Ave., lifelong resident of Tampa, who passed away in a local hospital Saturday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from Wilson Sammon Company Funeral Home, Mrs., Ruby I. Wagner of the First Unity Temple to officiate.  Internment in Orange Hill Cemetery.

Smith, and C. F. Stanley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Norris, J. W. Arnold, Hamp Rushing, J. L. Little, Ohil Rossiter, J. W. Manix, Lewis Hutchinson, Orlando Barry and Floyd Hancock.

Mr. Osie Box, 76, of 2110 ˝ 47th Street, Tampa, passed away Saturday.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from the Chapel of the F. T. Blount Company Funeral Home, 5101 Nebraska Avenue, with Rev. Ludd Tanner, pastor of the Oak Park Baptist Church, officiating.  Internment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday night from 7:00 to 9:00 o’clock.  Mr. Box was a native of the Tampa Bay area, and a member of the Oak Park Baptist Church.  Survivors include I son, Robert Box, Tampa; a brother, Hase Box, Jacksonville, Fla., and 2 sisters, Mrs. Rosa Eastburn and Mrs. Lillie Crawford. Both of Tampa, several nieces and a nephew.
