Elijah married Jessie Florence Box, his step niece and daughter of Daniel Jesse Box and Cornelia Little, on 21 Feb 1892 in Pulaski County, Arkansas. They had six children: Bertha Maebelle, Beulah Oda Essilene, Cora L., Mabel O., Louie M., and Lola Alma.  Buried at Bethel Cemetery, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
