As many times as I have been to Hot Springs, I have never heard of Hill
Wheatley.
Now I know...apparently he owned most of Central Avenue and was
considered one if not
the richest man in Hot Springs. |

Hill Wheatley Plaza
Because of the love of the city of Hot Springs this plaza was given to the
Hot Springs
Foundation by Hill Wheatley December 1981 for the use and benefit of
the public.
A man profits by his mistakes.

| 101 Constructed Circa 1900 and one of last that has not experienced remodeling.
Terra
cotta capitals and copper cornices. Housed the Chamber of Commerce
Mid 40's.
Ledwidge Drive in Mortuary.
Bordello & Rooms above.

Constructed in 1891 as dry goods and grocery store until 1915. Utah
Apts. above and
restaurant below. Became the Apple Apts and Dixie Coffee
Shop in 1940's. Recently was
Magnolia Gift and Night Train Lounge.
Remodeled apartments in 1992.
