01/08/1820 Removal Stokeley H. Coulter, Tailor,

Respectfully informs the public that he has removed from his former stand on Main Street, to a room, in the house of Mr. William Craig, where he carried on the Tailoring Business in all its various branches. He returns his grateful acknowledgements for past favors, and solicits a continuance of the public patronage. All orders thankfully received and punctually attended to.

01/08/1820 Thomas Dickerson was brought to this place yesterday morning, and placed in the custody of a guard, on a charge of committing a Rape on his step-daughter, a little girl between 12 and 13 years of age. As the prisoner is now in the hands of justice, and will probably be tried by the Superior Court next week, we for bear making any comments on the affair at present.

01/08/1820 The body of Mr. William Mabbet, of Walnut Bluff's Red River, was found on Tuesday morning last, in the prairie, about 25 miles from this place. He left here on his return home, on the 23rd d ult. and probably perished with the cold the ensuing night. His horse was tied near him, and had trampled upon and disfigured him in such a manner that he was only recognized by the papers in his possession.

01/15/1820 One Hundred Dollars Reward

Broke custody on the 7th instant John Lake, who had been apprehended
for horse stealing. Said Lake is about 52 years of age, about 5 feet 10
inches high, dark complexion, blue eyes, stoop shouldered, bow-legged,
had a large scar on the left side of his chin, and another on his upper lip,
both occasioned by bites. Any person or persons delivering said Lake to me,
or securing him to any jail, so that he may be brought to justice, shall
receive the above reward, and all reasonable expenses paid.

01/22/1820 The Coroner of this county, on the 9th inst. held an inquest on the body
of William Mabbet, found dead at Hickory Point, and returned a verdict of accidental death, and might have been occasioned in part, by being trod on by his horse, while asleep.

 
01/22/1820 Married - On Tuesday evening last, by Daniel Mooney, Esq. Mr. Terence Farrelly, of the firm of Farrelly & Curren, merchants, to Mrs. Mary Moseley of this county.

01/22/1820 Died - Lately, in Henderson (Kentucky) General Samuel Hopkins, an
officer of the revolution.

On the 18th of Sept. At Portsmouth, N.H., Hon. John Langdon,
formerly a Senator in Congress, and more recently Governor of
New Hampshire.

In Northampton, Mass., Caleb Strong, Esq. late Governor of Massachusetts.

In Pennsylvania, Simon Snyder, Esq., late Governor of that state.
