following day, his universally respected mother, Mrs. Dunn, aged about

IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS,
October Term, 1821
Thomas P. Eskridge vs. John Taylor
Attachment
Oath $166. 75 -Damages $500.
On motion of plaintiff's attorney, the defendant being called, answered
not; and it is ordered by the court that said defendant have notice that
an attachment has been issued against his estate by Thomas P. Eskridge,
who claims of said John Taylor, one hundred and sixty-six dollars and
seventy -three cents, for services rendered; and that, unless he shall
appear by himself or attorney, and file special bail to the aforesaid
action, on or before the third day of the next succeeding term, a
judgment will be entered against him, and his estate sold to satisfy
same. And it is further ordered, that a notice be given by
advertisement, for four weeks successively, in any newspaper published
in this Territory, and in case of no newspaper being published in
Arkansas Territory, then in some adjoining state or territory.

To James Hamilton, Eli J. Lewis, Elijah Morton, and whomsoever it
may concern:
TAKE NOTICE,
That I claim an equitable lien for the sum of five hundred dollars, on
six hundred and forty acres of land, situated on the Arkansas River,
about six miles above the post of Arkansas, it being the same tract of
land sold by me to Nicholas Rightor, and the said sum of five hundred
dollars being a balance of the consideration money for which said land
was sold.

To the Administrator of Moses Graham and whomsoever it may concern:
TAKE NOTICE,
That I claim an equitable lien for the sum of eleven hundred dollars,
on a tract of land containing four hundred arpens, situated near Belle
Point, on White River, in the county of Independence, it being the same
tract of land sold by me to the said Moses Graham, and the said sum
of eleven hundred dollars, being the consideration money for which
the said land was sold.

This day the plaintiff appeared by his attorney, Roane, and it appearing
to the satisfaction of the court that the writ of attachment in this
case had been executed, by levying sundry, property of the defendant;
and the defendant not appearing and filing special bail in this case as
required by law, it is therefore ordered by the court that publication
be made in the Arkansas Gazette, for the term of four weeks
successively, between this and the next term of the court of the nature
and amount of the plaintiff's demand, and notifying the defendant that
an attachment has been issued against his estate, and unless he appear
on or before the third day of the next term of this court, and file
special bail to the aforesaid action, judgment will be entered against
him, and his estate sold to satisfy the same.

DIED, At Havana, on the 11th August, on his way to St. Bartholomews,
for which Island he had been appointed American Consul, Joshua Norvell,
Esq. of Kentucky, and formerly of this place.
-On the 5th September, universally regretted by all who knew him,
Abraham Beck, Esq., attorney at law, formerly of New York.
