04/30/1822 $100 Reward

Ran away from the subscriber on Monday night, the 18th inst, a Negro Man named Abraham, about thirty-six years of age, five feet ten or eleven inches hight, black skin, limps a little in his right foot, and is very talkative; when in low white company, of which he is very fond, he pretends to be a free man. He is formerly owned by Mr. Overacre near Natchez, and was purchased by me of William T. Walker of that place, about three months ago. Abraham may probably attempt to reach Natchez, if he has gone off without persuasion, but should he have been stolen which I have some reason to suspect is the case, it is likely he will be taken up Red River, or to the neighborhood of Ouachita. The above reward will be paid upon the delivery of the negro to me at Baton Rouge, and the conviction of the thief or twenty dollars for such information as will enable me to retrieve the negro.

04/30/1822 $100 Reward
Ran away on Monday night, the 18th instant, a Mulatto Man named Peter, about twenty-five years of age, five feet six or seven inches high, of a surly countenance and heavy eye-brows, a shoe-maker by trade. He was formerly the property of Pape Salavador, and was purchased by me of James Johnson at Alexandria, Red River. It is supposed that this boy left here in company of Mr. Nolan's negro man Abraham, and it is probable they will be found together either in the neighborhood of Natchez, or up Red River. Should Peter have been stolen, which I have some reason to suspect is the case, I will give the above reward of one hundred dollars for the apprehension and delivery of the boy to me at Baton Rouge, and the conviction of the thief, or twenty dollars for such information as will lead to the recovery of said slave.

04/30/1822 A Stray Horse

Was taken up a short time since at the Cadron Cross roads, and sent to the subscriber. He is a strawberry roan, over five feet high, heavy built, and branded on his near shoulder with the letter P. The manner in which he came into the possession of the subscriber, makes it impossible for him to post agreeable to law. The owner is requested to come forward, prove his property, pay charges, and take him away.
