Libel for Divorce
This day came the complainant, by his counsel, and the defendant being
solemnly called, came not; and it appearing to the satisfaction of the
court, that the defendant is not an inhabitant of this territory, it is
ordered by the court, that publication be made in some newspaper
published in this territory, six weeks in succession, and unless said
defendant appear on or before the first day of our next term, and answer
to the complainant's petition, the same will be taken as confessed as
against her.

Christian Pringle of Arkansas County to Miss Betsey Frazier of Pulaski
County.  |

Died - At Arkansas, on Tuesday evening last, 8th inst. after a long
and lingering illness, Capt. Jacob Miller, brother of his excellency
Governor Miller. Capt. Miller came to this Territory about two years
ago, for the benefit of his health, which had been in a consumptive
state for several years. His remains were interred on Wednesday evening,
attended by the citizens of the village and neighborhood and the
Officers of the 7th regiment U.S. Infantry.

Robert Brooks vs. Elijah Morton
By virtue of an order from the Honorable Superior Court of the Territory
of Arkansas, to me directed, there will be sold to the highest bidder,
on Monday the eighteenth day of February next, at twelve o'clock at
noon, an equal one half or moiety of certain tenements and lots situated
in the town of Arkansas, and known by the name of Arkansas Hotel -
ordered to be sold as the property of the said Elijah Morton, to satisfy
a mortgage in favor of Robert Brooks and costs of suit.

reported that the Sacks, Foxes, Kickapoos, and some of the Delawares,
have joined the Osage - if so, there will be warm work"

Gen. Long ---- A letter from Hempstead county, to the Editor, dated
12th inst. says "Gen. Long, after having marched to, and taken
possession of La Bodia, was compelled to surrender, with about 50
followers, as prisoners of war, to a detachment of Spanish troops. They
were marched to St. Antonio, and from thence to Mont el Ray. Their
destiny is thought to be very uncertain |
