A Rogue - A boat belonging to the Missionary establishment at
Dwight, in the Cherokee nation on the Arkansas, arrived at this place on
Saturday last, from the mouth of White River, with supplies from New
Orleans for that establishment. On the night before she arrived, a man
by the name of DANVIS, (to whose charge the boat and cargo had been
confided, by the Rev. Mr. Finney, one of the superintendents of the
establishment.) stole the skiff belonging to the boat, and absconded. He
took with him, we understand, between two and three hundred dollars in
money, a quantity of sugar, coffee, cheese, a roll of cloth, a bag
containing donations of clothing, and several other articles belonging
to the missionary establishment. On the following morning, as soon as it
was known that he had absconded, three of the boatmen started in a canoe
in pursuit of him. He was seen the same day about eight miles ahead of
the canoe, and but little doubt was entertained that they would overtake
him, unless he should land, and take to the woods.

A corn-crib belonging to Jacob Barkman, Esq. in Clark County, was
destroyed by fire a few weeks since, together with between 7 and 800
bushels of corn; it is no doubt the work of an incendiary.
