12/21/1824 CHEROKEE AGENCY
DARDANELLES, A.T.
Dec. 9th, 1824

A DARK BAY MARE, with a blaze in her face, the near fore foot white, and a long switch tail, is now at this Agency. She is about fourteen hands high, nine or ten years old, and remarkably well-formed. From what has been ascertained about her, she appears to have been in and about the Cherokee nation six or seven years and to have been brought to this neighborhood by an Indian, who is said to have resided at what is called Dick Field's, a Cherokee settlement in one of the Spanish provinces. Doubts being entertained whether she was not stolen before she was brought here, this public notice respecting her is given in order, if she were, that the right owner may have an opportunity of recovering her. Any inquiries that may be addressed to the Agent, at this Agency, in relation to her, will receive attention.
