MILITARY BOUNTY LANDS
AT PRIVATE SALE
THE undersigned is authorized to sell for cash, or on a reasonable
credit, the following quarter sections of Military Bounty lands viz:
The NW 24, 6N, 9W and SW 28, 7N,15W, both lying in Pulaski County -
also, the NW 13, 10N, 7W, lying in Independence County.
The deeds for the above tracts have been regularly recorded according to
law, and the taxes paid up to the previous year. Indisputable titles
will be given by

NOTES STOLEN,
ALL persons are hereby cautioned against trading for or taking an
assignment of sundry Notes of hand which were stolen from the subscriber
on the 19th inst. viz.
One note for $600, signed by William Montgomery.
One note for $600, by Messrs. Allen Hill & Co.
Three notes signed by Richard Montgomery, and several other small notes,
the amount not recollected, all of which are drawn in favor of the
subscriber.
Also - One note for $48, signed by H.S. Smith; and one for $32, signed
by Messrs. Jno. C. Jones & Boon, drawn in favor of Montgomery & Bennett.

A Post Office has recently been established at the Mouth of White
River, in this Territory, and Mr. Wm. Montgomery has received the
appointment of Postmaster of that office.

DIED - In Peconery settlement, in this county, on Monday evening,
14th inst.
after an illness of less than 24 hours, Mr. Joseph Bentley, aged about
18,
son of Mr. George Bentley, of that place.

DISSOLUTION OF COPARTNERSHIP
The copartnership heretofore existing under the firm of Scull & Bogy, is
this day dissolved, by mutual consent. All persons having demand against
the said firm, or those indebted thereto, will please come forward and
settle their accounts with Hewes Scull, who is fully authorized to
settle the concern.

HORSE RACE - A race was run on the new course in the vicinity of
this town, on Thursday evening last, between a bay horse belonging to
Mr. Drope, and a small gray horse belonging to Mr. Scott. The distance
run was 600 yards, and the stakes about $450 a side. The gray took the
lead at starting, and kept it for about two-thirds of the distance, when
he was passed by the bay, who came out about 40 feet a head.

T. Toncray, Mr. Wm. Lackey, to Miss Sarah Harris, both of this county.

last, by John Dodge, Esq., Sam C. Roane, Esq. (U.S. District Attorney
for the Territory of Arkansas) of this place, to Miss Julia Embree, of
the former place.

RESPITE - The Acting Governor has granted a farther respite, until
the 4th day of April next, to Mad Buffalo and Little Eagle, the two
Osage Indians confined in the jail in this town, under sentence of
death, whose execution pursuant to a former respite, was appointed to
take place on Thursday next.

TERRITORY OF ARKANSAS, CLARK COUNTY
CONFORMABLE to an order to us directed, from Moses Moor, a Justice of
the Peace, we have proceeded to view one stray horse taken up by Andrew
Hemphill, and find the said stray to be of the following description:
One Bay Horse, about fourteen hands high, supposed to be eleven years
old, no brands perceivable, with a large star in his forehead, his mane
roached, appraised to twenty-two dollars and fifty cents, by us.
