06/07/1825 Mad Buffalo and Little Eagle, the two Osage Indians who had been for a long time in prison in this place, under sentence of death, and who were recently pardoned by the President of the U.S. had reached their nation. They parted company soon after leaving this place, and pursued their journey by different routes. The former was much exhausted by the fatigue and hunger which he endured during his journey through the wilderness, and was almost starved on his arrival. Little Eagle fared much better, he having subsisted on deer and turkeys which he killed on his route. We understand they were somewhat dissatisfied with their detention here, and that they gave a very ludicrous and amusing account of their trial, imprisonment, and treatment, while they sojourned among us.

06/07/1825 The steam boat Louisville, Capt. Curry, arrived at this place early on Wednesday morning last from New-Orleans, and passed up the river on the say day for Cantonment Gibson.  The keel-boat which she had in tow, was left about 100 miles below this.  Her lading will be taken up on the return of the steam-boat.

We are sorry to learn, that the Louisville broke her crank about 20 miles above this place, and, on Saturday last, when we last heard from her, was lying a short distance below the mouth of the Palarm, repairing damages.

Glenn Owen, and wounded Mr. Thomas Dudley, both citizens of the state of Missouri, and took from the party 170 mules and horse.

06/07/1825 The troops at the Cantonment still continued to enjoy good health and the Indians remained perfectly quiet.

Information on these subjects, addressed to the Adjutant General's Office, Little Rock, will be attended to, and a corrected list will be published at a future moment.

06/21/1825 TO THE VOTERS OF PULASKI COUNTY

FELLOW CITIZENS - I tender you my services to represent you in the Legislative Council of this Territory, at the August Election. One leading question alone brings me before the people. A BANK, it is said, will be applied for to the next Legislature. If elected, I shall oppose it with all the powers of my mind and body. Should the people of the upper part of this county want a division, I shall certainly feel it is my duty to support their wishes; and will do it faithfully on all subjects brought before me.

Your Fellow Citizen,
Isaac Watkins
