07/04/1826 We learn, by gentlemen who arrived here on Saturday, from Crawford County, that the Steam-boat Superior is detained about 20 miles above Fort Smith, in consequence of having sustained some damage in her machinery, which prevented her from getting up to Cantonment Gibson. Her cargo was sent up in keel-boats. It is considered doubtful, we understand, whether her machinery can be repaired in time for her to descend the river before the water becomes too low, which my occasion her detention until autumn.

07/11/1826 A Presbyterian Camp Meeting will commence at the Camp Meeting ground near Crystal Hill, in this county, on Friday, the 18th August next.

THE subscriber will have, by the 15th of October next, in complete operation, a first-rate Cotton Gin, Press, Whipper, and Flue, and will pick and pack crops, for the ninth part. The Gin will be situated about eight miles below Little Rock, and one mile below Judge Johnson's, immediately on the bank of the river, where there is a first-rate landing, either for keels or steam-boats. He will also be prepared with boats, to take cotton or other freight to New-Orleans, and will give his personal attendance to the sale of any thing that might be trusted to him, for a reasonable compensation, or deliver it to any house, according to order, at any place at or between this and New-Orleans. The lumber-house will be large and well calculated to store crops of cotton in, and will be ready for that purpose by the 15th of September. The public may rest assured that any thing trusted to the care of the subscriber, will be faithfully attended to, and all returns made out in order and in due time.

07/25/1826 VALUABLE REAL ESTATE,
FOR SALE

THE subscriber, having removed to the county of Hempstead, offers for sale his late celebrated residence, called the COLD SPRING FARM,
Situate 10 miles south-west from Little Rock, on which there is between 60 and 70 acres of open land, under good fence, a good log house, kitchen, and smoke or meat house, horse lots, some 40 or 50 peach, apple, and cherry trees planted, and a number of black locusts growing in the year and around the spring, &c.

There is not a situation in the Territory of Arkansas more celebrated for health and convenience. It is near the centre of the new but flourishing upland settlement, the soil of which is better adapted to the growth of small grain, cotton, corn, grass, &c. than any high land in Pulaski County. It has a never-failing spring of water, pronounced to be the coldest and best in the Territory, by all who have drank of it, and a choice situation for a spring or milk house, &c.

A family of about twenty in number resided on it last year, and notwithstanding it was an unusually sickly season in the surrounding country, not a single fever made its appearance among them, although they were unacclimated and from a northern country, which circumstances alone is sufficient evidence of its healthful situation.

Terms - cash or young negroes. Mr. T.W. Johnston, or my brother, Dr. John R. Conway, are authorized to make sale of the premises.
