05/01/1827 DISSOLUTION

THE partnership heretofore existing under the firm of CRAIG & REYBURN, is this day dissolved, by mutual consent.

All those indebted to the firm, are earnestly solicited to come forward and make immediate settlement; and all those having claims against the firm, will please present them as soon as possible for adjustment, to Dr. Reyburn, who is authorized to settle them.

THE subscriber having disposed of his stock of goods to Mr. Joseph Henderson, and intending to close his business in this Territory as early as practicable, requests all persons indebted to him, either by note or book account to call and settle the same with Mr. Henderson, on or before the 1st of June next. Those having unsettled book accounts, will please to close them, either by the payment of the cash, or by executing their notes, without delay.

Sir: Having become a Candidate for Congress, and your name being also before the people for the same honorable station, I shall address the people on the first day of the Court, in the counties of Clark, Hempstead, and Miller - Lawrence, Independence, and Izard - Conway and Crawford - and, if we can agree upon the time and place, in all the counties on the Mississippi. The time of holding the Courts you can ascertain by reference to the law. At each of those places I shall briefly state my pretensions, and assail your political course.

THE undersigned having obtained at the last February Term of the Circuit Court of Lawrence County, in the Territory of Arkansas, Letters of Administration, on the estate if Jesse Wamack, late of said county, deceased, hereby gives notice to all persons having claims against said estate, to exhibit the same to him, properly authenticated, within twelve months from the date of said letters of administration, or they may be precluded from deriving any benefit of said estate; and if such claims are not exhibited as aforesaid, within five years, they will be for ever barred.

05/08/1827 Runaway Negro in Jail, Nacogdoches, Province of Texas,

Was committed to the Jail in Nacogdoches, Texas, a Negro man, who says he belongs to a Mr. John Flowers, who lives on the Arkansas River, near the old Fort, about, one hundred miles above the old Factory.

Said Negro says he was stolen from near his master's farm by a man of the name Robertson. Said Negro will be detained here until his master calls for him, proves property, and pays cost of apprehension and other expenses.

05/15/1827 DIED - In Conway County, on Saturday last, Mr. John Standlee, aged about 30, an industrious and very useful citizen.
05/15/1827 Maj. E.W. du Val, Agent of Indian Affairs for the Cherokee Nation, arrived here on Sunday morning last, on public business; and sat out, last evening on his return to his residence at Dardanelles.
05/15/1827 MARRIED - In this township, on Thursday last, by Hon. Benj. Johnson, Mr. Jesse Rountree to Miss Teniese Lefevre, daughter of the late Mr. Peter Lefevre, deceased.
05/22/1827 Apology - A young man having broken an appointment with Dr. Franklin, came to him the following day, and made a very handsome apology for his absence. He was proceeding with the Doctor stopped him with "my good boy, say no more, you have said too much already; for the man who is so good at making an excuse is seldom good at any thing else."

THE undersigned, Administrator of the estate of John McElmurry, late of the county of Conway, in the Territory of Arkansas, deceased, having at the last March Term of the Circuit Court in and for said county, obtained Letters of Administration on said estate, hereby gives notice to all persons having demands against said estate, to present them, properly authenticated, for settlement, within one year from the date of said Letters of Administration, or they may be precluded from deriving any benefit from said estate; and if said claims be not exhibited within five years, they will be for ever barred.

WILL be sold, at public auction, at the late dwelling house of Wright Daniel, deceased, on Saturday the 30th of June next, the Personal Estate of said Wright Daniel, deceased; consisting of Horses, Hogs, Sheep, Household and Kitchen Furniture, a set of Blacksmith's Tools, a quantity of Iron, &c.

Terms of Sale - All sums of five dollars and under, cash; all sums above five dollars, a credit of six months will be given. Of the purchaser, Note with approved security will be required. Farther terms of sale made known on the day of sale.
