ADMINISTRATION NOTICE
THE undersigned having obtained Letters of Administration, from the
county court of Pulaski county, state of Arkansas in vacation, on
the estate of John W. Core, late of said county, deceased, bearing
date the 27th day of January 1837, hereby gives notice to all
persons having claims against said estate, to present the same, duly
authenticated, within one year from the date of said Letters, or
they may be precluded from deriving any benefit of said estate; and
if said claims be not presented within five years, they will be for
ever barred.
All persons indebted to said estate, are requested to make immediate
payment.

DRUGS & MEDICINES
Dr. W.C. Howell and Edward Dunn, have this day entered into
Copartnership, under the title of Howell & Dunn, to carry on the
Drug and Medicine business of this city. They have bought the entire
stock in trade of Dr. S.H. Tucker, consisting of a well selected
assortment of Drugs and Medicines. Dr. Howell will start for New
York on the 20th inst. to purchase an additional assortment of Drugs
and Medicines, a full supply of which they intend to keep always on
hand, and will sell them at New Orleans prices.
Physicians, and dealers in drugs and medicines, are respectfully
invited to call and examine their assortment, at the store recently
occupied by Dr. Tucker.

pains in endeavoring to make all passengers as comfortable as

apply to the Captain, on board, or to De Baun & Co, merchants,

The undersigned Insurance Companies will insure Merchandise by the
steam boat Revenue, at the usual rates of premium, and agree to
permit said boat to carry cotton from the bayous and tributaries of
the Mississippi, and occasionally from shipping points on the
Mississippi to New Orleans; provided she be not at any time laden
deeper than the touching of the water by the guards of the boat
amidship - and upon these conditions, cotton will be insured at the
usual rates of premium.

ON Monday, 20th of March next, at De Baun's corner, Little Rock, the
subscriber will offer for sale, at Public Auction, the FARM on which
he now resides, consisting of 525 acres of first rate land, 60 of
which is ready for cultivation, and 40 more under good fence and the
timber deadened on it.
There are, on the premises, a good dwelling house, kitchen, smoke
house, corn cribs, and other out horses, with a well of excellent
water. Persons wishing to purchase, are invited to examine the
premises previous to the day of sale.
Terms - One half cash in hand, and the balance in one and two years.
If not sold, I will, on the same day, rent the above Farm for the
present year.

Mr. Editor,
I wish to give notice to the public, through the medium of the
Arkansas State Gazette, that a one hundred dollar bill has gone
estray. Said bill is of the following description, viz: on the Bank
of the United States payable at Nashville, Tennessee, to J.
Summerville, dated Philadelphia 3d April, 1832, marked letter Q. The
above described bill was deposited in the mail at Carrollton, Ark's,
on the 9th of September last, addressed to Wm. T. Larremore,
Fayetteville, Ark's, and that gentleman informs me that he neither
received the letter or bill.
You will please insert the above, and much oblige yours, with
respect.

Governor, Judge of the Southern (sixth) Judicial District. Mr. H.
although comparatively speaking rather a stranger in the state, will
nevertheless give universal satisfaction in his district. He is a
thoroughbred lawyer, and applies himself intently to his profession.
We do not think there is a young man in the state more likely to
meet the wishes of the people. |

SALE OF LOTS,
IN THE TOWN OF BENTON,
Seat of Justice of Saline County
THERE will be sold, in the town of Benton, in Saline county, on
Wednesday, the 8th day of March next, a number of valuable LOTS in
said town.
The County Seat of Saline county having been recently relocated at
the town of Benton, and it being recently relocated to the town of
Benton, and it being within less than two miles of the centre of the
county, there can no longer exist a remaining doubt of its
continuing to be the permanent Seat of Justice.
Those who wish to make investments in town property, will, in our
estimation, do well to attend, as most of the valuable lots
remaining unsold will be disposed of at this sale.
Terms of sale will be, nine months credit, the purchasers giving
note, with approved security. Indisputable titles will be made
available to the purchasers.
All those who purchased lots in the last June sale, and have
neglected to give their noties for the amount are requested to
execute them on or before the 8th March next, according to the terms
of the sale, or the lots then s struck off to them will be resold.
Sale to commence at 10 o'clock A.M. of said day.

AND now, at this day, came the said complainant, by Ashley, his
solicitor, and on his motion, and it appearing to the satisfaction
of the court, from return of the Sheriff of the county of Pulaski,
that the defendant is a non-resident of this State: Therefore it is
ordered, that unless the said defendant, Newton, appear, by himself
or attorney, and file his answer to the complainant's bill of
complaint, on or before the third day of the next term of this
court, to be holden on the second Monday of April next; otherwise
the said complainant's bill will be taken for confessed, and a
decree entered accordingly.
And it is further ordered by the court, that this order be published
for six weeks in the Arkansas Gazette, newspaper printed in this
Territory, and this cause be continued.

THE THOROUGHBRED HORSE
HENRY CLAY
WILL stand, the ensuing season, commencing on the 20th March, and
continue to the 10th of June 1837, one half of the time at Lee's
Creek, and the other half on Frog Bayou, Crawford county, Ark's, at
$10 the season, and $15 to insure a mare in foal - payable at the
end of the season.
Henry Clay is a beautiful sorrel, sixteen hands one inch high, and
six years old.

TO MECHANICS & UNDERTAKERS
WILL be let, to the lowest bidder, on the 8th day of March next, on
the premises, the building of a COURT HOUSE, in the town of Benton,
for the county of Saline.
Also, at the same time and place, there will be let, to the lowest
bidder, the building of a JAIL, in said town of Benton, for the use
of the said county of Saline.
It is deemed unnecessary, in this notice, to give a plan, in detail
of the buildings, as a description of them will be exhibited on the
premises, at the time of letting out their erection.
The Court house will be built of brick, 40 feet square, and two
stories high.
The Jail will be of hewn timber, the kind and quality of which to be
made known at the time of letting out.
Bidders will predicate their proposals on receiving the cash for
their work, when completed, which maybe must be within twelve months
from the day of letting out the contracts.
Bonds, with approved security, will be required from undertakers,
for the faithful performance of their contracts.
The right to reject bids deemed too high, is reserved.
