Building #3. Dan
Hamilton had a store in this building until probably
sometime in the 1930s when his son Danny took over the store. Danny
operated the store until probably sometime in the late 40s. Gas was also
sold at this store. F. O. Middlebrooks bought the store from Danny
Hamilton and operated it until his death in the late 60s or early 70s.
His wife, Bertha ran the store for a short time after his death but
closed
it down. Tom Jackson bought the building from Mrs. Middlebrooks and
opened a store in the late 70s. After being there about a year, he
bought
building #4 and moved his store to that building. Molly McJunkins and
her
sister Martha Delaney had a ceramic shop in building #3 for a short time
in the middle 80s. This building was probably built in the late 1800s
and
old timers say it is the oldest building of the store buildings. - James
