 St. Joseph Cemetery Rules

November - Rules - 1899

I.
A lot shall be used for burial purposes only.

II.
The grade of lots shall be made by the superintendent.

III.
Picking flowers, breaking shrubs, removing trees or defacing monuments is forbidden.

IV.
Rubbish of any kind must not be thrown in the roads or walks.

V.
Hedges and fences are forbidden.

VI.
The design of monuments should be approved by the superintendent before their erection.

VII.
No emblems except those of a strictly Catholic character will be allowed on monuments.

VIII.
No religous service except that of the Roman Catholic Church may take place in the cemetery.

IX.
No organization except recognized Catholic societies may march into the cemetery in a body.

X.
Lots are sold by the superintenent - all chargest must be paid before an interment or any improvement is made.

XI.
An order from the superintendent to the sexton is necessary for every interment.
