Methodist Church
First United
Methodist Church has served Pine Bluff since 1830, when it was
organized out of informal Methodist Societies maintained by
pioneer families.
The church was first located
at Pullen and Alabama; then at Fourth and Main in 1857.
This building was damaged by gunfire during the Civil War Battle
of Pine Bluff. The third church building was built at
Sixth and Main in 1887. The fourth move came in 1920 to
this site. The church has sponsored a number of missions
in the area during the past century, contributing much to the
expansion of Methodism.
