In the words of Lee Roy Weathers:

It has taken 18 months to get this together and write it up. I hope you will like it and get something out of it. I also hope you will overlook the typing errors and misspelled words. I wish I had listened little better in English class when I was in school.

I tried to show in some of the stories just how the family was living at that time. All of the stories are based on actual fact, with a few educated guesses.

I believe I have explained places well enough for you to understand where they are, but if not maybe you can still find out by asking some of the older members of the family.

I hope that Wilson, Henry, Joshua, Charley, Pert, and Ted will be as real to you as they are to me after you read this booklet.

We (the Weathers family of 1979) leave you (the Weathers family of the future) this booklet in hopes that you will get to know some of your ancestors. We could have left you more, but we could have left you less.
