| Lora had three sisters and a half sister. Crystal was the oldest born August 8, 1907. Chris married Arch Shepard. Lora was next born June
21, 1909 and married Ted. Lois was next, born March 22, 1912 and married Carrol Jones. Lucille was born October 27, 1916 and married Woodrow
Allen. Thelma was born June 27, 1919 and married Gene Kappler.
Dora Lea Jones was her half sister and she was born on November 6, 1923 and married L.D. Haney.
Lora’s great-grandmother, Running Deer was a full blooded Cherokee Indian.
This is a picture of William Franklin Leverett, Lora’s father. He was born in 1884 on July 1, and died on June 21,
1949 on Lora’s birthday. The woman in the picture is Merle Leverett, his sister. This picture must have been taken around 1930. Most
everybody called him, Bill Buck Leverett.
Lora’s grandfather, John N. Bowman always paid his debts. One story on him started with him coming from Virginia on
horseback. Somewhere in Kentucky his horse died and left him on foot. A man who lived there and didn’t even know John gave him a horse so he
could continue on his journey. Years later, after he married Catherine Estep, he went back and paid the man for the house.
