George and Anna (Alix) West

 

On April 3, 1902, Charley Weathers married Nora Elizabeth West. Nora was born on January 26, 1882. Nora had two brothers, Elec and Jim West. Jim married Nannie Walker and they had one daughter named Roberta.

 

Nora had two sisters, Gussie who married Henry Smith and Johnnie who married Riley Linton. They had one son, Howard Linton, who was a preacher.This picture is Elec West on the left and Henry Smith on the right.  Henry was Nora's sister's (Gussie) husband.  Elec was her brother.  These are a fine pair of mules and a good looking buggy.

 

    

 

This is a picture of George West, Nora’s father. He was born in 1857 and died in 1939. His wife, Nora’s mother, died in 1894. Nora was 12 when her mother, Anna died. After Anna died, Nora did the cooking and housecleaning. At the time she married Charley, she was cooking over an open fire in a fireplace.
