Johnson County, Arkansas Miscellaneous Sites

This marker is located at the corner of Cherry and Cravens Street.

Site of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Erected in 1858 - 59 after organization in 1840 by Reverend Anderson Cox.

Served as a hospital during the War between the States 1861 - 1865 for both Union and

Confederate Soldiers

This marker is at the corner of Cherry and Main.  Why do they put markers in the "middle" of the

road?  I wonder if anyone has ever got run over trying to check a marker out.

Clarksville Sesquicentennial Flagpole

The Clarksville Chapter Daughters, NSDAR, sponsored a seal design contest the summer of 1998. 

The City of Clarksville, adopted the seal as the official seal of Clarksville Sesquicentennial.

This flagpole was erected November30, 1998.  The Sesquicentennial flag flew on this pole for the month

of December to commemorate Clarksville's 150th birthday on December 21, 1998.
