This house
belonged to the mother of Robert Smith (married to Sarah Sloan, who
at one
time owned the Shackleford house). It is now owned by Milton Smith,
who is
currently the president (or CEO?) of 1st Nat'l Bank in Walnut Ridge
.
Interesting story: During the 60's or 70's, the
then current owners went on vacation and a man known to the family
broke into the house (via the chimney) to supposedly steal drugs.
Only problem was he got stuck in the chimney and they found his
stinky corpse when the family came back from vacation.
