34, of Cabot, Ark.; assigned to the 39th Support Battalion, Arkansas Army National Guard, Lonoke, Ark.; died Oct. 13th in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained Oct. 7th when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol vehicle in Taji, Iraq.

24, of Vilonia, Ark.; assigned to the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died May 28, 2007 in Abu Sayda, Iraq, of wounds sustained when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. Also killed were 1st Lt. Kile G. West, Sgt. Anthony D. Ewing, Cpl. James E. Summers and Spc. Alexandre A. Alexeev.

21, of Pocahontas, Ark.; assigned to the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.; died Aug. 12 of non-combat-related injuries in Taji, Iraq.

27, of Hector, Ark.; assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11, Oak Harbor, Wash.; died November 5, 2007 of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was conducting operations in Salahaddin province, Iraq.

 

Hesley Box Jr.

 

 

Army Staff Sgt. Hesley Box Jr.
24, of Nashville, Ark.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 153rd Infantry, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Arkansas National Guard, Texarkana, Ark.; killed May 6 when a car bomb detonated near his guard post in Baghdad.

35, of Hazen, Ark.; assigned to 39th Support Battalion, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Army National Guard, Hazen, Ark.; killed April 24 when mortar rounds hit his camp in Taji, Iraq.

Army Sgt. 1st Class John G. Brown
43, of Little Rock, Ark.; assigned to the Arkansas Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 185th Aviation Regiment (Air Assault), 77th Aviation Brigade, Camp Robinson, Ark.; died in Baghdad on January 20, 2007 when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in crashed. Also killed were Col. Brian D. Allgood, Staff Sgt. Darryl D. Booker, Lt. Col. David C. Canegata, Command Sgt. Maj. Marilyn L. Gabbard, Command Sgt. Maj. Roger W. Haller, Col. Paul M. Kelly, Staff Sgt. Floyd E. Lake, Cpl. Victor M. Langarica, Capt. Sean E. Lyerly, Maj. Michael V. Taylor and 1st Sgt. William T. Warren.

Jimmy D. Buie

43, of Floral, Ark.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 153rd Infantry Regiment, 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Arkansas Army National Guard, Fordyce, Ark.; killed Jan. 4 when an improvised explosive devise detonated near his military vehicle in Taji, Iraq. Also killed were Spc. Jeremy W. McHalffey and Spc. Joshua S. Marcum.

William W. Bushnell

24, of Jasper, Ark.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas; died April 21, 2007 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when his vehicle was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade during combat operations.
