Army Sgt. Michael R. Sturdivant
20, of Conway, Ark.; assigned to the 431st Civil Affairs Battalion, U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.; died January 22 in Kirkuk, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident during convoy operations.

Michael V. Taylor

Army Maj. Michael V. Taylor
40, of North Little Rock, Ark.; assigned to the Arkansas Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 185th Aviation Regiment (Air Assault), 77th Aviation Brigade, Camp Robinson, Ark.; died in Baghdad on January 20, 2007 when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in crashed. Also killed were Col. Brian D. Allgood, Staff Sgt. Darryl D. Booker, Sgt. 1st Class John G. Brown, Lt. Col. David C. Canegata, Command Sgt. Maj. Marilyn L. Gabbard, Command Sgt. Maj. Roger W. Haller, Col. Paul M. Kelly, Staff Sgt. Floyd E. Lake, Cpl. Victor M. Langarica, Capt. Sean E. Lyerly and 1st Sgt. William T. Warren.

Nathan Z. Thacker

Army Pvt. Nathan Z. Thacker
18, of Greenbrier, Ark.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died October 12th, 2007 in Kirkuk, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.

Marine Lance Cpl. Steven A. Valdez
20, of McRea, Ark.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; killed Sept. 26 by enemy mortar fire at Camp Blessing, Afghanistan.

Military Police Company, 759th Military Police
Battalion, Fort Carson, Colo.; died July 15, 2007
in Baghdad of injuries sustained from a non-combat
related incident. Hometown: Little Rock, Arkansas.

Marine Corporal Kyle W. Wilks
24, of Rogers, Ark.; assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary unit, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died April 15, 2008 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations.
