Marston House

429 Main

Clarendon, Monroe County, Arkansas
1870 Greek Revival-style residence
Listed in National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1984.

 Marston House

Oldest standing home in Clarendon, Arkansas.

Notes from Anne Harvey - atwharvey @ verizon.net :  I think this was the house my grandparents rented while they were building. My great-grandfather’s house, located at the corner of Jefferson & 7th, if recollection serves, burned down at some point after my great-grandfather’s death. In 1965 my grandfather was called to be pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Clarendon, and while they rebuilt on that property they rented a house on Main that looks very much like this one, right near where Johnny and Genevieve Moore (Burton’s parents) lived.
