Montgomery County County Seat

The County Seat of Montgomery County was established on its present site in 1842. 

The year the county was created and to the place (now Mt. Ida) was given the name

Montgomery Court House.  In 1850 the name of the town was changed to Salem

but in the same year it was changed back to Mt. Ida.

 

 

 

 

 

In memory of the 382 men of Montgomery County, Arkansas who served in the

Confederate States Army 1861 - 1865.
