Memphis City Hospital
In 1836 the state authorized building a brick hospital on this site, chiefly for river travelers. In 1873 it became a municipal institution. After its razing in 1895, the location became Forrest Park. Contributed by Memphis Sesquicentennial, Inc. 1969.
