Dedicated to the "Ten Boys from Dallas" killed on the U.S.S. Arizona (BB39)
at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, December 7, 1941 by the Imperial Navy of the Japanese
empire.
A total of 1177 sailors and marines were killed and most of them are entombed in
the hull of the U.S.S. Arizona at the bottom of Pearl Harbor. 79 were from
Texas. Only 337 Sailors and Marines survived.
This is also to honor John Willard Evans, Seaman 1/C, former Mayor Pro Tem of
Dallas who was among those survivors.
