Poinsett County Court House The first county seat
of Poinsett County, created in 1838, was located at Bolivar and
there is remained until 1855, when it was moved to Harrisburg. |

Benjamin Harris Sr.
In 1856, he donated the land on which this
courthouse was built. Harrisburg was named in his honor.
