These trees were planted by the Student Council of the Arkansas School for the Blind in 1976 to commemorate the Bicentennial of the United States of America.  May they be a blessing to all who pass this way.
 

 

 
 

 

Michael C. Rowland Playground

In loving memory of Michael Christopher (1956-1996) and his sister Kelley Michele (1961 - 1982)

(Former student of ASB)

 

 

Mike is remembered for his winning smile and warm generosity.  The joy and laughter of children

playing here is a tribute to his love & goodness to others.

 

Kelley's love of music won her the coveted "Trebing Memorial Music Award".  She was known

 for her deep faith and success counseling youth.

 

This playground was donated by contributions of family and Mike's "Circle of Friends"

golf tournament.

Ogburn Hendricks Memorial Playground

In memory of Joyce Tullos Ogburn, elementary teacher, Arkansas School for the Blind (1970-1985), whose love and dedication to visually handicapped children will always be remembered.

 

In memory of Randall Cole Hendricks, President of the Arkansas School for the Blind Parent - Teacher Council (1983 - 1984), a loving father and dedicated volunteer, who will be remembered as a friend by all who knew him.

 

(Plate on the front of marker is engraved with the same wording as the top of the marker.
