John E. Geyer,

Surviving Founder of the Business

Fifty Years of Continuous Wholesale Grocer Service

The Geyer Adams Company, embarked in the wholesale grocery business September 1st, 1869 - fifty years ago - and during that period has enjoyed a successful and growing career.

John E. Geyer was the original founder of the business, under whose sole directing hand it was operated until 1881, under the name of John E. Geyer & Co., when John Dudley Adams, now deceased, acquired an interest in the business, and the firm name changed to Geyer & Adams, under which it operated until 1891, when it was incorporated as the Geyer & Adams Company, with John E. Geyer, President and Adolph Geyer, Vice President and Secretary.

During the entire period of fifty years, John E. Geyer, though now past 87 years of age, has taken an active part in the company's business affairs, and is now seen daily at its offices, conferring with managing heads, and mingling with friends and the trade.

Your future patronage is solicited - and new accounts are always welcomed with open arms. In return, we assure you a service and business relations that will merit your trade.

John Dudley Adams, Former Partner, now Deceased.
