Information from Kay Tatum &
others:
Abraham Anderson Mills, a
planter, personally supervised the construction of his home.
The Mills had no children, but their numerous pets, especially the
parrots delighted the neighborhood children. The Mills House
was built for Anderson & Eliza Mills. Mills managed the "Lefevre
Plantation," located on the north side of the river and owned by his
wife's family. He also managed his own farm which was sometimes
known as the "Faulkner Plantation."
He became active in local politics and served two terms as the
Pulaski County Sheriff and was elected County Judge from 1896 -
1900.
The Mills house was also owned by Dr. Emmett N. Davis. |
