You can find a lot of stuff on
War Memorial Stadium and the Razorback games played here in Little
Rock. Occasionally someone important will come and have a
rally here, but those things don't compare with what happens in this
parking lot. I don't have any pictures (maybe one of my
visitors has some to share) but allow your mind to visualize
thousands of people in this parking lot with red on, Razorback hats,
tailgate parties, and calling the hogs.
Those are some of the memories
everyone from Arkansas shares but to us here in Little Rock, most of
have the additional memory of this being the one parking lot big
enough that mom and dad felt safe teaching you to drive on.
For some of us this little 1/2 mile in here has lots of
memories...we started off as toddlers over at the zoo, then we went
on to enjoy the games at Ray Winder Field, and then rolling out of
puberty, mom and dad then brought us over here to War Memorial to
safely learn to drive and park. On any given Saturday or
Sunday, you can find at least 5 cars out here testing the waters,
today being no exception. |
