W.C. Faucette Memorial Park
North Little Rock, Pulaski County,
Arkansas

William Chesley Faucette 1865 - 1914 Founding father, Chief Counselor and first Mayor of Argenta, (now, North
Little Rock) 1902 - 1909.
The W.C. Faucette Memorial Plot Park dedicated June 19th, 1921.
May future generations view this tablet and park knowing they stand as a
tribute of gratitude to the efforts and untiring energy of W.C. Faucette.
This little plot of earth occupies an eminence overlooking the city he
founded and loved. We erect this tablet in 1986 to perpetuate his vision
and name, during the Sesquicentennial of Arkansas.
Sonnet to W.C. Faucette There's no way William Faucette could have known the changes in this town he held so dear; That we who read his name upon this stone
might find a little more than history here. Some men are born to dream; some, born to build
but seldom has one man excelled at both. Will Faucette, wise and consummately skilled, dreamed of and helped create this city's growth. He knew the value of community; That people don't make towns but neighbors do
with work and pride and selfless honesty and what's more, William lived the things he knew. To these two things we dedicate this land The spirit of a city and a man.
