Benton
Saline County, Arkansas |
|
|
Situated midway between Little
Rock and Hot Springs, with railroad facilities that but very few
towns have, Benton is ideally located for the establishment of
factories of all kinds, and is rapidly becoming known as a growing
factory town, with our stave and lumber mills, largest screen door
factory in the South, chair stock factory, handle factories, and
potteries. The healthful location and mild climate make it a place
where men of families are anxious to accept positions, where they
may have a good health and enjoy the advantages of good schools and
churches. The installing of a municipally owned water and sewer
system a few years ago has made it one of the cleanest and most
attractive towns in the state, and outsiders are rapidly taking note
of this fact when looking for a location.
The country surrounding Benton is very productive, a great deal of
it being adapted to the growing of small fruits and trucking. There
are thousands of acres of cut-over land adjacent to the town that
are well situated for farming and stock raising, and this industry
is at present attracting a great deal of attention, and within the
next few years this will be recognized as a big factor in the
growing of livestock. There are many farms in the county now where
some of the best thoroughbred cattle and hogs can be found, and
every farmer is awake to the necessity of producing good stock, and
is devoting a great deal of time to the business.
For the man who is looking for a home in a mild climate and
healthful location, where his children can have the advantages of
first-class schools, good churches and the companionship of good
Americans, Benton, and Saline County are ideal, and none better
could be found, and many modern homes are being built by new
arrivals, and those who have been here long enough to foresee the
promises offered.
It would be impossible in this space to tell of the advantages
offered here, but parties interested may obtain information they
desire promptly by addressing any of the undersigned, or the
Commercial Club.
