Arkansas Ties ... A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That, and a Whole Lot of Arkansas

Jefferson Davis Memorial Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas   This Highway was named by Arkansas Legislature in 1925 for Jefferson Davis 1808 - 1889 President of the Confederate States of American from 1861- 1865. This stone was a part of the Wall of the Fort built in 1839. Erected by Varina Jefferson Davis Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy Arkansas Division 1937.
