FASHIONABLE TAILORING
THE undersigned has removed his Shop to the large two-story frame house,
on the
corner west of the Office of the Arkansas Gazette, where he continues
to carry
on the TAILORING BUSINESS, in all its various branches. Gentlemen
who may favor
him with their custom, may rest assured that no effort shall be
waiting, on his
part, to give general satisfaction. All orders will be promptly attended to.
All kinds of country produce will be taken exchange for Tailoring.
Gentlemen at a distance can have their clothes made, by sending me their exact
measure, agreeably to the following directions, viz:
To measure for a Fashionable Coat:
1st, The full height of the customer, by feet and inches.
2d. The half circumference of breast under the coat.
3d. The half circumference of waist under the coat.
4th. The length of sleeves, including the width of back and cuff’s, the arm
being
raised level and square.
5th. The half width of sleeve at elbow and cuffs.
6th. One third the circumference of the shoulder joint, taken with a string,
pretty
tight above the sleeve head.
To measure for Pantaloons – Place the end of the measure at the centre of the
waistband, over the right hip, or to where the centre should be, and note the
following points therefrom:
1st. To the crease of the thigh
2d. To the knee
3d. To the calf
4th. To the bottom
Then measure the half circumference of the waist, the thigh, the knee, the calf,
and the bottom.
