On the 13th of November, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program sponsored a Cemetery Fair at the Mosaic Templar Museum. There were two companies that provided information on restoration of monuments and historic markers.

Emerson Monument Co. located in Springdale is a full service monument company providing new monuments, laser etchings, memorial bricks, bronzer memorials, statuary, vases and landscape stones. The company has been in business since 1926 and is currently co-owned by Alison Raymer and her husband.

They gave a Go Hog Stone for a door prize and lucky, lucky Desmond Allen won it. They can be found on Facebook and Alison also provides a blog “Life’s Many Stories…A Headstone Blog.” Emerson worked with Norton Arts on the large restoration project at Evergreen Cemetery in Fayetteville.

The second company is, of course, well-known fine art and historic restoration experts, Norton Arts, located in Little Rock, Arkansas and owned by Elizabeth Norton and her husband.
Their eclectic portfolio of restoration projects include Paintings, Sculpture, Stained Glass, Architecture, Furniture, and Ceramics but mainly, they are well known as “the people to go to for cemetery monument restoration”. Their website maybe found at: http://www.nortonarts.com/index.html and they are also on facebook.
