Painting of Marlsgate by unknown artist.

This is David’s Christmas tree…just beautiful and filled with feathers, pheasants and peacocks.  REAL pheasants and peacocks.

The unused beds are decorated with Christmas greenery and fruits.  This bed had two Civil War swords.

The bathrooms have been modernized but blend in so well with the house that you are actually standing in front of the shower before you realize you are in the bathroom.

David’s office and study.

Of course, Marlsgate would never have a plain antique toilet like other southern houses.  It has a wonderful hardwood throne that blends in next to the bed for easy accommodation.  This was my second favorite thing in the house.

And finally my favorite room in the house, with my number one favorite piece, is the trophy room with the rhinoceros.  How many people in Arkansas can say they have a rhinoceros?
