Atlanta, Ga., April 15. Captain Maurice L. Britt, of Carlisle, Ark., infantry officer and former football great, is shown in Lawson General Hospital here Thursday just after he was informed that he will receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for heroism on the Italian front. Captain Britt lost his right arm as the result of wounds suffered on the front.
Captain Britt Broadcasts Tuesday
Pine Bluff, April 15. – Capt. Maurice Britt, former University of Arkansas football star who will received the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry in action in Italy, will broadcast Tuesday night over a nationwide CBS hookup at 8:30 p.m. Central War Time, C.S. Lynch, executive vice-president of the Arkansas Power and Light company, announced here today. The program is sponsored by the electric utility industry.
Captain Britt will broadcast from Lawson General Hospital, Atlanta, where he is recuperating from the loss of an arm in the Italian campaign. He will be interviewed by Quentin Reynolds, war correspondent and news commentator.
The program will be heard in Arkansas over Radio KLRA Little Rock.
