Desmond has turned me on to another one of Arkansas’ well known eccentrics.  Meet “Fast” Freddy.  You may have seen him running up and down the road from Plummerville to Little Rock.  ”Fast” Freddy Divincenzo is actually from California but has been adopted by Arkansas and lives over in Plummerville.   Vietnam veteran Fast Freddy is known for his 1943 Chevy Truck that he customized into a “patriotic roadster.”  Jeannie Stone, artist and writer, has written a wonderful little story on Fast Freddy: http://m.arkansasonline.com/news/2011/may/29/fast-freddy-creates-patriotic-roadster-20110529/

George Hirrell and “Fast” Freddy DiVincenzo at Hutch’s Auction House, Twin Groves, Arkansas, Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011.

Notice the steering wheel has a crystal door knob attached to a pressure cooker.  People with talent to put together something like this have always interested me and I think they make life more worthwhile.
