On Saturday, March 8th, my friend, Gary Pinkerton, will be presenting a program on Trammel’s Trace at the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archive in Old Washington, AR.

This presentation will focus on Nicholas Trammell’s time in Arkansas and the connection at Fulton, AR between the Southwest Trail across Arkansas and Trammel’s Trace at the Great Bend of the Red River.

If you get a chance, come check out his presentation.  The program is free & open to the public.  http://www.trammelstrace.org

I received word today that my dear friend Pat Anthony, who lives in Clinton, Arkansas was devastated by the recent tornados in Arkansas.  She has lost all of her home except two rooms and the garage.  Her neighbor across the street was killed and 5 neighbors totally lost their homes.  Several of you may know her from the genealogy scene. While thankfully they survived, there is lots of work to be done trying to rebuild.  Please keep her in your prayers and if you would like her address to send her a card, just let me know. - Pris

I know I am terribly behind at posting so here is my excuse.  Most of you know how much my little doggie means to me, sometimes doggies are as close to people as real people.  Peachy Lou was diagnosed with cancer this week and has 1-2 months to live.  I have also been thinking about all the people who lost family and friends this week that didn't get "time" to say goodbye so I am going to take advantage of my "time" and spoil my little dog to no end.  Will post when I get back in my routine again....however, please feel free to drop me a line if you need anything!.

I have received another letter from someone who has adopted the grave of one of our Arkansas boys buried on foreign soil.  Read the letter and if you have any information that will help find his family and put some history to his name...drop me a line at ArkansasTies@ArkansasTies.com or Rob Stal at rob.stal@hotmail.com.  Mr. Isaacs was from Lonoke, Arkansas.

Dear Sir, Madame,

Although I was born many years after the second world war (1983) I know that without the American soldiers my life in Holland would be very different. I recently adopted the grave of Odis M Isaacs at Henri Chapelle in Belgium.

At the time of his death SSGT Odis M. Isaacs (38294449) was serving with the 119th Infantry 30th Division. He died on 19 December 1944 and is now buried in plot C row 01 grave 33. He entered the service in Arizona.

I visit the grave every 2 weeks to bring flowers. I just started doing research on Mister Isaacs. I can't find a lot about his life during the war. I hope to find out how and where he died. And hope to know more about him during and before the war. I hope you can help me with my research.

Kind regards,  Rob Stal

I moved everything from 2007 to the Archives so you can find all of that here.  We shall just have to start from scratch for 2008.

Also, I am pretty disappointed in the Sandwiching in History tour being canceled at Marlsgate Plantation tomorrow.  There is an alternate tour at the Scott Plantation Museum but it just won't be the same.  I am sure there were a lot of people looking forward to it.

Christmas was light but I believe everyone and there mother was checking out my website over New Years.  If I haven't filled your request yet, be patient, I am getting there.

Added the following in Baxter County:
