This area is dedicated to the memory of Levin and Elizabeth Watson & Abram and Margaret Watson Land

Levin Watson (1786 - 1858) was the father of Rev. Samuel Watson (1813 - 1895), Methodist Minister of Memphis, an early Woodruff county landowner. He was the grandfather of Ella Love Watson Eldridge (1851-1880), wife of Rolfe Eldridge Jr. (1842-1891). He was also the father of Margaret (Mrs. Abram) Land.

The Levin Watsons and Abram Lands were buried in the old Watson cemetery two miles east of Gregory on land patented by the U.S. to Levin Watson in 1848, located in the middle of a field. The cemetery had not been maintained for many years. Their monuments were moved to the Eldridge Family Cemetery in April 1996 by their descendants and replaced by appropriate markers.
