Pris, I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed your site, it sure brings back a lot of memories! My father's family were all born and raised in and around Heber Springs, Cleburne Co area. I can remember as a child from my grandparents house you could see Sugar Loaf Mt. In fact some of my dad's cousins on his mother's side owned some of the land under Greers Ferry Lake. Does anyone remember the old swinging bridge around there? When the wind blew hard it would swing as you drove across it. Of course as a child I thought it was neat and my mother hated it! My mom was born in Marie, Mississippi Co (my grandfather and one of his brothers ran a saw mill there) but she was raised in Craighead and Poinsett Counties, she attended Harrisburg High School in the late 1940's. I was born at the old Versers Clinic in Harrisburg. I was in Cross Co last May for a graduation and did manage to get to The Jonesboro Library to try to find any info on my great-grandfather who died there between 1904 - 1908 but didn't have any luck. I'm going to let an uncle of mine know about your site, he is my only remaining uncle and the only living sibling left on my mom's side of the family. Thank you again for the wonderful pictures and info! Sheila - hart2u @ comcast.net
